Heidi Holiver
Heidi Holiver DNP

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Brigham and Women's Hospital

Heidi Holiver, DNP is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and serves as the first NP hired by the Brigham and Women's Hospital Consultation Liaison division. Her Psychiatric Nursing clinical practice also includes Vitruvian Behavioral Health. Additionally, Dr. Holiver serves as a mentor to students completing their doctorates at UMass Medical School. Dr. Holiver brings expertise in psychiatric nursing experience from a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, urgent care and research. Her clinical interests include emergency psychiatry, life transitions, anxiety, depression, forensics, and medical ethics. Early in her career, she worked as a research assistant at Mass General Hospital, focusing on psychiatric medication clinical trials and veteran mental health, and contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and poster presentations. Heidi attended the University of Massachusetts Medical School Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing, where she received a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a research focus on theuse of emergency mental health services in college students in Central Massachusetts. Earlier at UMass Medical, she earned a Masters in Psychiatric/Mental Health with a concentration in Palliative Care and a certificate in Nursing. Prior to her nursing education, she attended College of the Holy Cross, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor inNeuroscience. As an undergraduate. She received the Crompton Gold Medal for the best undergraduate research paper. Heidi lives with her husband, Jack, and their dog Poppy, and enjoys traveling, making art, and reading.
